Amsterdams Bont bowl. See also 0299. Where you can see how it could be decorated. This bowl is an original. The underglaze blue is decorated in China. It depicts a Chinese phoenix. In China it symbolised the empress. This was not known by the Europeans. They probably saw it as a peacock.
You can find another example in the book European decoration on oriental porcelain 1700 – 1830 by Helen Espir, page 75.
