A large heavily potted dish with shallow rounded sides, a narrow flat, up-turned rim and low, slanting foot ring. Painted in Iron-red, turquoise and green enamels, combined in with outlines in black, on a thick, white glaze with a greenish tinge. Central medaillon is decorated with a pair of phoenixes flying among large chrysanthemum flowers and foliage growing in a garden with small rock formations and grass, under the sun surrounded by cloud scrolls, all inclosed with double red lines. The cavetto is covered with two four-clawed sinouous dragons with scaly bodies and flaming tails pursuing flaming pearls.
