Very nice blue and white dish, decorated with a rooster. Dish is known as ko-sometsuke, Chinese porcelain for the Japanese market. Produced at Jingdezhen in the transitional period this kind of porcelain was deliberately potted in a rough manner from poorly levigated clay. It has many flaws and imperfections but this appealed the Japanese taste.
