“Our Lady of Kevelaer” is essential to the veneration of Mary, the Consoler of the Afflicted (Consolatrix Afflictorum), in the German pilgrimage site of Kevelaer, just across the border from Venlo. It has been an important Marian pilgrimage site since 1642, known for its miraculous image of grace.
